eScience Interns Bring Science to Low Income Kids

This week eScience interns took science on the road! Eight interns went to Warren Village, a transitional housing program that helps low income single parents acquire the life skills to achieve self-sufficiency. While parents took night classes, eScience interns partnered with kids to extract DNA from bananas, have a rocket launching competition, test buoyancy by engineering their own boats, and even explore geology by observing crystallization processes.

eScience Labs Helps Local Boy Scouts Paint a Church Fence

March 4, 2014: eScience Labs assisted Troop 712 in painting the Bethany Luthern Church fence. The fence painting was Andrew Higgins's Eagle Scout project. The fence was longer than a football field and over eight feet high. eScience contributed over 20 gallons of paint and assisted in painting the fence with Troop 712. The project took over 16 hours to prepare, paint and touch up.

eScience Labs Offers Summer Internship Program

January, 27th: 2014eScience Labs Internship Program is now accepting applications for Summer 2014. The Intern Program is designed for college and high school students that desire to gain work experiences and first hand exposure to business at an early stage in their careers. Interns will gain work experience in operations, the front office and perform a variety of functions in their particular area of interest.

Year-End Review: eScience Labs' Community Outreach Program Grows!

December 23rd, 2013: Volunteering and spreading goodwill is a common theme throughout the holiday season, but for eScience Labs, these ideals are part of our everyday culture. 2013 was a great year for us in many ways. We increased learning opportunities, found new ways to support our staff and clients, and strengthened our give-back program. Here is a summary of our favorite donations.

eScience Labs Volunteers for FEMA Disaster Relief

December 4th, 2013: On a blustery snow day when temperatures dipped below 10 degrees, eScience Labs’ Volunteer Team piled into COO Scott Higgins truck to help staff the Loveland FEMA Donation Distribution Center. FEMA has been a vital resource for the Colorado flood victims who endured disastrous floods last fall. This natural disaster destroyed nothing short of homes, neighborhoods, and communities, and left many Colorado families heartbroken.

ESCIENCE LABS LAUNCHES NEW, HANDS-ON GENERAL BIOLOGY LAB KIT

November 27th, 2013: Denver, CO – eScience Labs’ General Biology Lab Kit is now available for Spring, 2014 course adoptions. The lab kit is intended for online or hybrid educational models, and uses the hands-on learning approach as its primary instructional method. State-of-the-art assets including interactive lab drills, concept animations, and a 3D cell also accompany the hands-on approach to promote student engagement.

City Kids Wilderness ProjectL Kids Get Their Art On!!

September 15th, 2013eScience Labs is proud to partner with the City Kids Wilderness Project, located in Jackson, Wyoming. The City Kids Wilderness Project is “a nonprofit, outdoor education program for underserved and at-risk inner-city youth (ages 11 to 24) from Washington, DC metropolitan area,” (http://citykids.org, 2013). The City Kids Wilderness Project emphasizes personal growth, confidence, and leadership through experiential learning in an outdoor environment.

July 3rd, 2013: Music is the auditory connection between the warehouse and the office at eScience Labs. It is the common thread the pulls the employees together. One side of the building is dedicated to physically building the lab kits, and the other side is responsible for organizing the creation and the sale of the lab kits. Although the two parts of the building complement one another, they are fundamentally focused on the different sides of the business.

eScience Labs Rides On...

June 23rd, 2013: Led by Andrea Rex, the eScience bike commuters Charles Duckett and Scott Higgins participated in Colorado's Bike to Work Day. The Denver Regional Council of Governments, or DRCOG, brings together city and county governments and other interested groups in the metro area each year to plan Bike to Work Day as a way of raising awareness of bicycle commuting.
